Popular day trip and excursion destinations are the nearby Valley of Fire State Park and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for spectacular red rock scenery. Also, the engineering marvel Hoover Dam and Lake Mead together forming a contrasting image of red rock formations and deep blue waters attract many visitors.

Las Vegas also serves as a fantastic gateway to explore the Southwest of the country with some of the greatest natural wonders and attractions, including:

  • Grand Canyon National Park: needs no introduction. As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World is a must-see for everyone.

  • Death Valley National Park: despite the name, visitors today will find a place of unique desert wonders and spectacular scenery.

  • Bryce Canyon National Park: at an elevation of more than 8,000 feet in southern Utah, it features unique landscapes such as orange rocks, green trees and spire-shaped rock formations

  • Zion National Park: translates into "The Promised Land", the park offers steep, red cliffs, massive monoliths, rivers and waterfalls
